About Surface Intelligence

We build software for people who work on buildings — and for the buildings themselves.

Why the record matters

Important information about a building is created over and over — and then fragmented. A roof gets measured. A proposal gets created. Production happens. Documents go elsewhere. Warranty starts. Service happens later. Years later, someone else has to reconstruct the history from scratch.

Surface Intelligence exists to preserve continuity around the building. Instead of each stage of work living in a separate tool, every stage attaches to a durable Building Passport — the record of one physical building that accumulates its operational history.

Preservation first

Our starting principle is preservation before replacement. Understanding what you have before it fails — and knowing what can be preserved before you replace it — saves money, material, and time. That principle shaped the platform: record the evidence, plan the work, and keep the history.

Built in Atlantic Canada for tough climates

Surface Intelligence is designed and built in Atlantic Canada, where freeze-thaw cycles, road salt, snow loads, and coastal exposure put buildings under real pressure. Those conditions shaped how the platform records climate context and plans surface work.

  • Freeze-thaw cycles that crack concrete and masonry
  • Road salt that accelerates surface deterioration
  • Heavy snow loads that stress roofs and structures
  • Coastal salt air near Atlantic regions

Platform principles

Preservation First

We recommend preservation before replacement, backed by recorded evidence.

Evidence over assumption

Recorded observations, derived calculations, and planning assumptions are kept distinct.

The building is the thread

Every job, document, and service visit stays connected to the building record.

Canadian built

Designed and built in Canada for Canadian climates and building practices.
